JAG Student Voices: Anna Peters

I joined JAG because my mother thought it would help my anxiety. I was extremely nervous and felt like it would be a waste of my time. Soon, I learned that JAG was the exact opposite of waste of time.

It took a long time for the anxiety to go away, but Mrs. Geohagan, my JAG Specialist, makes it impossible to be a stranger in her classroom and her life. Suddenly, I found myself being asked questions about how I viewed topics and felt about things by someone who actually cared about my answers.

Suddenly I had someone who actually cared about my answers.
Suddenly I had someone in my life with so many thought provoking questions, and a heart that truly listened to the answers.

I still have anxiety, but JAG has put me into so many situations that have allowed me to prosper. I now know that I can control my life, my anxiety does not control my life. I also know that with Mrs. Geohagan I will always have a listening ear and caring heart about anything I may need, inside and outside of the classroom.
